Purpose
Malicious Software includes computer viruses, malware, trojans and other software or program code which represents a threat to our computing environment. Preventative measures are provided in an effort to eliminate or minimize the risks of malicious software and those related polices and procedures must be adhered to by City computer users.
Policy
- Malicious software protection procedures as provided by ITS shall be followed in all forms of electronic communications. (*406.4.8)
- Personnel should ensure that Malicious software protection tools are enabled and operational at all times, including anti-virus protection and local computer firewalls.
- Personnel must immediately notify the ITS Help Desk of any actual or perceived threats occurring as a result of accessing or executing potential malicious software.
