210 WORKER'S COMPENSATION BENEFITS PAY (Effective 03/07/2022)

An employee who qualifies for workers' compensation shall be paid in accordance with the Missouri workers’ compensation laws as set forth in Chapter 287, RSMo., as amended.

In addition to the amount required to be paid under the Missouri workers’ compensation laws, the City voluntarily agrees to pay an employee a supplemental amount equal to the difference between (i) the employee’s average paycheck in single pay period and (ii) the amount the employee receives pursuant to the Missouri workers’ compensation laws over single pay period.

The City shall only make such supplemental payment for ninety (90) calendar days from the date the employee is unable to work due to the qualifying event or until the employee is released to return to work by a physician, whichever is less. The employee’s average paycheck will be determined by averaging the paychecks the employee has received over the thirteen weeks before the qualifying event.

Any hours an employee on light duty works are paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay.
